# Solarlog Last updated: 2026-09-02 > Solarlog is the solar power plant diagnosis and management service by Conalog. It diagnoses plants at the resolution of a single panel (MLPE) to pinpoint the exact cause of generation loss, then raises output through Solarlog O&M — its AI-powered subscription O&M service — and proves the result with a generation guarantee. The core idea: surface, at the panel level, the problems that inverter-level data alone can never reveal. Website: https://www.solarlog.kr Operated by: Conalog — https://www.conalog.com Contact: contact@conalog.com Korean version of this document: https://www.solarlog.kr/llms-full-ko.txt Short version of this document: https://www.solarlog.kr/llms.txt ## What We Do Solarlog protects a solar plant's revenue along two axes. - **Diagnosis:** We analyze panel-level (MLPE) data to isolate the cause of generation loss — shading, soiling, degradation, faults — down to a single panel. Losses that get buried in the average of inverter-level monitoring are surfaced, and a diagnostic report shows exactly where and how to recover output. - **Solarlog O&M (subscription O&M):** We sustain the output gained from diagnosis with AI-powered continuous monitoring. Panel-level data is analyzed 24/7 to catch performance drops early, and a plant-specific guarantee line is set so generation is guaranteed by results. ## The Problem Solar plants age every year. Panel shading, soiling, degradation, and faults slowly erode output, yet inverter-level monitoring hides these losses in the average across many panels. Owners are left unable to pinpoint why output is falling, and revenue loss goes unaddressed. Solarlog raises diagnostic resolution to a single panel and eliminates this blind spot. ## How It Works - **Existing plants:** Diagnosis → problem resolution → guarantee baseline → subscription O&M. Operating plants are first diagnosed to find and fix the source of loss, then moved into guarantee and management. - **New plants:** Guarantee baseline → subscription O&M. New builds skip diagnosis/resolution and enter directly at the guarantee-baseline stage. - **Solarlog O&M plans:** One entry plan plus three cumulative upgrade tiers, and a separate enterprise tier. 기본형 (Standard, entry — panel-level Digital O&M, real-time anomaly detection, regular reports, MLPE hardware + installation included, with a 3-month diagnosis rider; ₩35,000 per 100 kW/month regardless of plant size) → 개선형 (Boost — +5–15% generation via MLPE BSTR shading recovery) → 관리형 (Care — adds on-site light maintenance, ~30% lower operating cost) → 보증형 (Guarantee — adds a data-based generation guarantee on PR and uptime). 기업형 (Enterprise) is custom-designed for curtailment, VPP/enterprise API and large complexes, quoted individually. Upgrade-tier pricing is published per 100 kW/month in two capacity bands (under 300 kW / over 300 kW): 개선형 (Boost) ₩59,000/₩49,000, 관리형 (Care) ₩74,000/₩64,000, 보증형 (Guarantee) ₩89,000/₩79,000. ## Core Concepts - **MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics):** Devices such as optimizers and microinverters that operate and measure at the level of a single panel — the foundation for panel-level data collection and precise diagnosis. - **Panel-level Diagnosis:** Diagnosing a plant at single-panel resolution rather than at the inverter or string level, so the cause and location of loss can be pinpointed exactly. - **AI O&M:** A digital Operation & Maintenance approach in which AI continuously analyzes panel-level data to detect performance drops and anomalies early and support operations. - **Solarlog O&M (subscription O&M):** Plant operation and maintenance delivered as a subscription, including continuous monitoring, output improvement, and a generation guarantee. - **Generation Guarantee:** Setting a plant-specific guarantee line and guaranteeing generation by results. - **RSD (Rapid Shutdown):** Rapidly cutting voltage at the panel level during fire or inspection to ensure safety. ## Key Facts - **Generation improvement:** Plants average more than 8% higher generation after adopting MLPE; in heavily shaded environments, improvements of around 15% are achievable. - **RSD (Rapid Shutdown):** Cuts panel voltage to 0V within 30 seconds during a fire or other emergency. Mandated in the US (NEC 2023), with adoption planned in Korea. Solarlog's MLPE ships with RSD built in, and there have been zero fire incidents since deployment. - **Operations track record:** Panel-level remote diagnosis has detected and resolved more than 500 risks per year without site visits. - **O&M cost reduction:** Roughly 50% lower operations-and-maintenance cost versus the conventional approach. - **AI diagnosis cost:** AI-based diagnosis costs about 95% less than conventional on-site (site-visit) diagnosis. - **Public procurement:** Solarlog's MLPE solution is designated a Korea Public Procurement Service (PPS) innovation product, enabling private contracts with public institutions. - **Market position:** Solarlog is the No.1 domestic (Korean) MLPE manufacturer and adopter. - **Global deployment (as of 2026-06):** 5 countries, 397 plants, 80.1 MW total capacity, 90,845 panels. Plan Guide The structure of the five-tier plans, the two axes of the monthly subscription fee (rental · service), and the criteria for choosing the plan that fits your plant ### Q01. How are the plans structured? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q01 It is a five-tier cumulative structure: Standard → Boost → Care → Guarantee → Enterprise. Each higher tier includes all the features of the tier below it, adding one more each time. | Tier | In one line | What is included | On-site response | Monthly subscription fee (per 100 kW) | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Standard | Panel-level monitoring·diagnostics | 24-hour panel-level monitoring (approx. 30-second intervals) · real-time fault detection·alerts · AI diagnostics·monthly report · one initial thermographic (IR) inspection · MLPE·communication Product A/S | Remote action focused (on site only for Product A/S) | ₩35,000 (flat rate regardless of size) | | Boost | + Energy boost | Output improvement work such as installing BSTR (energy-boost devices) in shaded areas · rewiring · panel repositioning | Remote action focused (on site only for Product A/S) | ₩59,000 / ₩49,000 | | Care | + On-site (light) maintenance | String cable·connector·wiring·open-circuit repair · combiner box inspection · quarterly on-site inspection + thermographic (IR) inspection · preventive maintenance at least once a year | Site dispatch within 72 business hours (target) | ₩74,000 / ₩64,000 | | Guarantee | + Output guarantee | PR·generation-hours guarantee · Solarlog performs rewiring·panel repositioning·cleaning·weeding without any limit on the number of times in order to meet the guarantee | 72-hour site dispatch + proactive action to fulfill the guarantee | ₩89,000 / ₩79,000 | | Enterprise | + Enterprise features | Curtailment (within 30 seconds) · VPP·enterprise API · RSD fire-safety remote emergency shutdown · custom dashboard · 100% MLPE monitoring | Tailored consultation | Separate consultation | _※ The monthly subscription fee is the amount per 100 kW block of installed capacity (supply price, VAT excluded), listed in the order '300 kW or less / over 300 kW', and consists of the equipment rental fee and the maintenance service fee (Q02). The BSTR initial installation contribution for Boost and above is quoted separately from the monthly subscription fee, and inverter replacement·major structural repair is not included in any tier._ ### Q02. What is included in the monthly subscription fee? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q02 It is the sum of two things. The 'rental' of the equipment installed at your plant, and the 'service' of managing the plant with that equipment. The contract is also built on these two axes, and settlement upon termination follows these two axes as well. | Category | Rental : hardware | Service : plant maintenance | | --- | --- | --- | | What it is | Renting the monitoring equipment supplied and installed by Solarlog for the contract term | Monitoring the plant with the data from that equipment, and maintaining the plant with people on the ground | | Items included | MLPE (GARD·BSTR) · Edge Gateway · communication equipment·cables·accessory materials / Installation · use · upkeep · free replacement on failure (Product A/S) | Common to all tiers : 24-hour monitoring · fault alerts · AI diagnostics · monthly report / Added by tier : energy boost work · site dispatch·on-site (light) maintenance · regular on-site inspection·thermographic (IR) inspection · fulfillment of the output guarantee · enterprise features | | Differences by plan | GARD·gateway·communication are common to all tiers / Boost and above add BSTR (energy-boost devices) | The scope widens as the tier rises / Remote monitoring → site dispatch → output guarantee → enterprise features | | Ownership | Owned by Solarlog during the contract term (rental) / Transferred to you upon normal expiry·full payment | Not applicable | | On early termination | Settlement of the remaining rental amount : initial build cost × remaining months ÷ total months / Equipment is returned (compensation if not returned·damaged) | Service early termination fee : monthly service fee × remaining months × the rate fixed in the contract / Clawback of the contract-term discount : (standard fee − applied fee) × elapsed months | > Separating the equipment cost (rental) from the management cost (service) makes it clear during the contract which cost is for what, and upon termination the 'remaining rental amount' and the 'service early termination fee' are each calculated exactly as defined (Q37). ### Q03. Is there a guideline for which plan to choose? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q03 Choose on the basis of 'what your plant is lacking right now'. - **Hard to judge where to start, want to know the exact condition first → Standard.** — Start without burden at a flat ₩35,000 per month per 100 kW and decide after three months of actual measurement. - **Output leaking away through shading·mismatch has been confirmed → Boost.** — BSTR installation·rewiring raises the output itself. - **No one to go to the site, want someone to go when something breaks → Care.** — A target of site dispatch within 72 business hours, quarterly on-site inspection·thermographic (IR) inspection, and on-site (light) maintenance response are added. - **Predictability of revenue matters (for financing·investment·sale) → Guarantee.** — A PR·generation-hours guarantee blocks the downside, and Solarlog proactively performs even cleaning·weeding to meet the guarantee. - **Operating multiple plants, need curtailment·VPP·fire safety (RSD) → Enterprise.** — A portfolio dashboard·API·100% MLPE monitoring are designed to order. > If what you need is clear, start directly with that plan; if it is not clear, start with Standard. The three-month Standard diagnostic report reveals in numbers which of the above criteria applies to you. ### — 02. Starting with Standard and Upgrading What you receive if you start with Standard, and what happens on each of the three paths after three months — upgrade, continue, or terminate ### Q04. What kind of plan is Standard? Do I have to start with Standard? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q04 Standard is a diagnostic·entry plan whose purpose is 'knowing the current condition of your plant precisely, panel by panel'. You do not necessarily have to start with Standard. The starting plan is your choice, and if it is still hard to judge which plan suits you, starting with Standard is the least burdensome option. - **Scope of service** — MLPE panel-level 24-hour remote monitoring, real-time fault detection·alerts, AI diagnostics·monthly generation report, one initial thermographic (IR) inspection, and Product A/S for Solarlog-supplied equipment (MLPE·communication). Site visits are limited to Product A/S, and regular on-site inspection is not included. - **Fee** — ₩35,000 per month per 100 kW (supply price), a flat rate regardless of plant size. - **Why starting with Standard carries no burden** — You start with no initial cost at a flat ₩35,000 per month per 100 kW, and during the first three months we measure shading·mismatch·fault locations and the actual performance ratio (PR) and compile them into a diagnostic report. Only with these measured figures can you judge 'how much would be recovered by improvement' and 'whether this plant can carry a guarantee' by numbers rather than by intuition, and if the results differ from your expectations you can also wind things down without burden within three months (Q11). - **You may start directly with a higher plan** — If what you need is clear — for instance, shading losses have already been confirmed, or a guarantee is essential under your financing conditions — you can contract directly for Boost·Care·Guarantee (Q05). If you start with Standard, once the three-month diagnostic period has passed you choose one of three paths. | ① Upgrade to a higher plan | ② Continue with Standard | ③ Terminate | | --- | --- | --- | | After reviewing the diagnostic report·output improvement figures, you upgrade to Boost, Care, or Guarantee. / Further upgrades to higher tiers remain possible afterwards; downgrades are not allowed. / → Q07 · Q08 · Q09 | You continue as you are, with no early termination fee or disadvantage. / The standard 10-year contract term, the flat ₩35,000 per 100 kW, and the scope of service all stay the same. / → Q10 | If you terminate within three months of service start, the early termination fee·settlement amounts are waived. / You bear only the installation·removal labor cost and the termination removal fee, and the equipment is collected. / → Q11 | ### Q05. Can I start directly with Guarantee (a higher tier) without going through Standard? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q05 Of course. The starting plan is your choice, and you can contract directly for Boost·Care·Guarantee (direct adoption). Standard is merely 'an option you can choose without burden when you do not know where to start' — it is not a mandatory gateway. - With direct adoption, the Standard three-month termination special clause and the termination removal fee provision do not apply (they are conditions that exist only in Standard), and the general early termination rules apply from the time the contract is signed. - For direct adoption of Guarantee, the baseline guarantee values (PR·generation hours) follow the plant's existing guarantee if there is one; if there is none, Solarlog obtains irradiance data, analyzes the PR curve from the year of completion, and calculates·proposes the values to fix them. - If what you need is clear — a plant where shading losses have already been confirmed, a plant with sufficient operating data, or a case where a guarantee is essential for financing·investment purposes — starting directly is faster. If you cannot decide, start with Standard and decide after three months of actual measurement. ### Q06. What does the diagnostic report contain, and how far can it be used? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q06 It contains the results of measuring the plant panel by panel, together with 'where to fix what, and how much would be recovered'. You can use it to decide on an upgrade and to order construction work from Solarlog. - **Contents** — Output deviation by panel·string, shading·mismatch·fault locations, thermographic (IR) inspection results, the measured performance ratio (PR), and the locations·quantities·methods of improvement and the expected output improvement. - **Use** — It is used as the basis for deciding whether to upgrade and which tier to choose, and as material for ordering improvement work from Solarlog. When upgrading to Guarantee, it becomes the basis for setting the baseline guarantee value. - **Restrictions** — The diagnostic report·output improvement figures are Solarlog's trade secrets as well as material for proposing an upgrade, so they may not be provided to third parties or used for self-performed work or as the basis for quotes from other companies. ### Q07. What is the procedure for upgrading from Standard to a higher plan? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q07 No new contract is drawn up; you review the diagnostic results together with us and then sign an upgrade confirmation. - **Step 1 Review of the diagnosis** — The diagnostic report issued by Solarlog, or the output improvement figures (locations·quantities·methods·expected effects of improvement), are reviewed together with you. - **Step 2 Tier selection** — You select one of Boost·Care·Guarantee. Upgrading at the three-month point when the diagnostic report is issued is the usual course, but upgrading is possible at any time after that as well (Q09). An upgrade to Enterprise is determined through separate consultation. - **Step 3 Signing the confirmation** — The selected tier, the applied unit price, the BSTR installation contribution for Boost and above, and the baseline guarantee value for Guarantee are fixed in the upgrade confirmation and signed. The baseline guaranteed PR for Guarantee is set on the basis of the values measured during the Standard period. - **Step 4 Construction·application** — For Boost and above, energy boost work such as BSTR installation is carried out, and the revised subscription fee applies from the date set in the confirmation. ### Q08. How does the cost change when I upgrade? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q08 Both the rental side and the service side change. On the service side, the monthly subscription fee you pay changes to the unit price of the selected tier; on the rental side, BSTR is added at Boost and above, so a one-time initial installation contribution arises. - **Monthly subscription fee (service)** — It changes to the standard unit price of the tier you selected. For example, a 500 kW plant goes from ₩175,000 per month on Standard to ₩395,000 per month on Guarantee (the over-300 kW unit price of ₩79,000 × 5 blocks, supply price). - **BSTR initial installation contribution (rental)** — For Boost and above, BSTR (energy-boost devices) are added to the rented equipment, and part of the material·installation cost is calculated separately in the quotation as a contribution. The amount varies with the installation locations·quantities determined by the diagnosis, so it is fixed in the upgrade confirmation. - **BSTR minimum recovery period of 36 months** — BSTR newly installed upon an upgrade is treated as having a minimum recovery period of 36 months from installation. If you terminate before that, the unrecovered balance is billed in a lump sum. ### Q09. After upgrading, can I change to another tier again? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q09 Moving up is possible; moving down is not. You may understand it as being open in one direction only. - **Upgrades allowed** — If the plant's situation changes after you upgrade to Boost, you can move up again to Care·Guarantee. An upgrade likewise proceeds by signing an upgrade confirmation, and the items added (the BSTR installation contribution·baseline guarantee value, etc.) are fixed by the quotation at that time. - **Downgrades not allowed** — Moving down from Guarantee·Care·Boost to a lower tier is not allowed. Even where an exception is permitted with Solarlog's prior written approval, it is treated as a partial early termination and a settlement follows (collection of the rented BSTR equipment or its unrecovered balance, and clawback of the discount for the period at the higher tier). - **Why one direction only** — Higher tiers are structured so that equipment installation and guarantee obligations are added on. Moving up only requires adding more, whereas moving down would mean undoing what has already been installed and guaranteed. So there is no need to stretch for a high tier from the outset; you may move up when the need arises. ### Q10. May I keep using Standard without upgrading? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q10 Yes. Simply keeping Standard incurs no early termination fee and no disadvantage of any kind. - **Contract term and fee** — The standard 10-year contract term continues as it is, and the flat ₩35,000 per month per 100 kW does not change either. - **Scope of service** — Panel-level 24-hour monitoring, fault alerts, the monthly report, and MLPE·communication Product A/S continue to be provided. Faults identified by diagnosis continue to be reported through alerts·reports, but on-site maintenance·energy boost work·the output guarantee are not included in Standard. - **When you need more** — If individual on-site maintenance or improvement work is needed while you stay on Standard, it can proceed on a paid, case-by-case quotation. - **If you change your mind later** — You can upgrade to a higher plan at any time while staying on Standard. Moving up is possible and moving down is not (Q09). > The three months are a period for diagnosis·decision, not a deadline that forces an upgrade. Standard alone still fully delivers the core value of 'monitoring that looks down to a single panel'. ### Q11. What happens if I only take the diagnosis on Standard and then terminate? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q11 Within three months of service start, you can terminate with no early termination fee·settlement amount. You bear only the installation·removal costs actually incurred, and the installed equipment is collected. - **What is waived** — All the items that arise on a general early termination, including the remaining rental amount (settlement of the up-front equipment investment), the service early termination fee, and the clawback of the contract-term discount. - **What you bear ① Installation·removal labor cost (at actual cost)** — Based on the actual MLPE installation·removal labor cost evidenced by Solarlog, this is around ₩3,000,000 for a 1 MW-class plant. - **What you bear ② Termination removal fee (flat)** — ₩500,000 (VAT excluded). It arises only where you start with Standard and terminate within three months without upgrading. - **Rented equipment** — The equipment you rented (MLPE·gateway·communication equipment, etc.) is collected. If equipment to be collected is lost·damaged and cannot be returned, it becomes subject to compensation. - **Conditions** — The reference date is the day the notice of termination (in writing·electronic document) is received by Solarlog, and it applies only once per plant. If you re-subscribe for the same plant after terminating, this special clause does not apply. - **Termination after three months** — The general early termination rules (Q37) apply as they are. > The three months on Standard are 'a period for taking only the diagnosis and then deciding'. The structure is designed so that if the diagnostic results differ from your expectations, you can wind things down without much burden. ### — 03. Output Guarantee How the baseline value (PR) for Guarantee is set and how it declines by year of operation, the irradiance measurement methods, and pyranometer installation ### Q12. If I choose Guarantee, how is the guarantee baseline (PR coefficient) set? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q12 Guarantee is a product that fixes in the contract a baseline value stating 'this plant generates at least this much' and compensates you if it falls short. That baseline value is the guaranteed PR, and the way it is set splits into two paths depending on whether the plant already has an existing guarantee. - **What PR (performance ratio) is** — It is actual generation ÷ theoretical generation (installed capacity × irradiance hours on the module plane). It means 'of the electricity theoretically possible for the sunlight received, what percentage was actually produced', so a bad-weather year and a good-weather year can be compared fairly. A guaranteed PR of 80% means that 80% of the theoretical value is guaranteed. - **① Plants with an existing guarantee** — If there is a guaranteed PR or guaranteed generation hours agreed with the EPC contractor·previous O&M provider, that baseline is taken over as it is. If the existing guarantee has its own degradation standard, that is applied first. - **② Plants without an existing guarantee** — Solarlog calculates it. Starting from a base PR of 80% (a daily average of 3.2h if the generation-hours basis is chosen), it analyzes the PR curve from the year of completion, sets and proposes a baseline guaranteed PR above the current measured level, and fixes it in the quotation·contract. If you started with Standard, the three-month measured values serve as that basis and it is fixed in the upgrade confirmation. - **Year-by-year degradation decline** — Panels lose a little output every year, so the guaranteed PR also declines with the year of operation. The cumulative degradation rate is 2.5% in year 1 (including initial degradation) and adds 0.6% each year from year 2, with the guarantee coefficient Fn = 1 − cumulative degradation rate and the guaranteed PR by year = baseline PR × Fn. Years are counted from the plant's completion date, not from the contract date. **Example of guarantee coefficients (Fn) and guaranteed PR by year : baseline PR 80%, counted from the plant's completion date** | Year of operation | Cumulative degradation | Guarantee coefficient Fn | Guaranteed PR | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Year 1 | 2.5% | 0.975 | 78.0% | | Year 5 | 4.9% | 0.951 | 76.1% | | Year 10 | 7.9% | 0.921 | 73.7% | | Year 15 | 10.9% | 0.891 | 71.3% | | Year 20 | 13.9% | 0.861 | 68.9% | | Year 25 | 16.9% | 0.831 | 66.5% | - **Relationship with the manufacturer's warranty** — The degradation rates above are capped by the linear output warranty slope in the panel manufacturer's datasheet. If the manufacturer's warranty is gentler, the gentler one is applied. - **Guarantee start and measurement** — The guarantee starts on the day after the one-month stabilization period following the end of commissioning, and the measured PR is calculated in 12-month cycles. The irradiance measurement method that forms the denominator of PR is fixed at the time of contract (Q13). - **Compensation on a shortfall** — If the measured PR for a measurement cycle falls short of the guaranteed PR for that year, compensation is calculated as (guaranteed PR for the year − measured PR) × theoretical generation for the measurement cycle × applied unit price, and paid in cash within 60 days after the end of measurement. The applied unit price is the lowest of the previous year's published average SMP+REC, the actual settlement unit price, and the reference unit price in the quotation, and the compensation cap is 200% of the total fees for that measurement cycle (100% of the total cumulative fees over the contract term). > Shortfalls arising from exemption events such as force majeure·grid problems·output restriction, from causes attributable to you, from problems with the plant's existing assets, or from a third party's responsibility are excluded from the compensation calculation. ### Q13. How is the irradiance that forms the basis of the PR calculation measured? What changes if a pyranometer is installed? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q13 Because irradiance is the denominator of PR, how irradiance is measured determines the accuracy of the guarantee assessment. Based on the plant's module-plane (tilted plane, POA) irradiance, one of four methods is fixed at the time of contract, and the most precise method is on-site pyranometer measurement. | Measurement method | Reference data | Precision | On-site pyranometer | Cost | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | (a) Satellite-based | Satellite irradiance data such as the Chollian satellite, calculated on a module-plane basis | Basic | Not required | None | | (b) Ground observation stations | KMA ASOS·AWS horizontal irradiance converted to module tilted-plane (POA) values | Moderate | Not required | None | | (c) Reference cell | On-site reference cell measurements with a calibration correction factor applied | High | Not required | None | | (d) Pyranometer measurement | Measurements from an on-site pyranometer (ISO 9060 Class A recommended) | Highest | Required | None if existing equipment is used · ₩500,000 per new unit (VAT excluded) | The procedure and conditions when you choose (d) pyranometer measurement are as follows. - **1. Fixing the method** — At the time the contract is signed, (d) is selected and fixed in the quotation·individual contract. Once fixed, Solarlog does not arbitrarily change or re-select the method afterwards. If you choose (a)–(c), which method is to be used is likewise fixed at the same point. - **2. If a pyranometer already exists** — Solarlog verifies its accuracy and calibration status. It checks the sensor class, calibration history, installation position and angle (whether the tilt·azimuth match the module plane), and soiling·aging, and if suitable it is used as it is, so there is no additional cost. If it is unsuitable or its installation position is problematic, it is replaced by whichever of (a)–(c) is specified in the contract. - **3. New installation if there is none** — You bear ₩500,000 (VAT excluded) per pyranometer, including installation labor, and Solarlog installs it. The quantity·location·operating conditions follow the quotation·individual contract. This cost is a one-time initial cost; it is not included in the monthly subscription fee and is billed separately. - **4. Installation specification and location** — An ISO 9060 Class A grade pyranometer is recommended. Since the purpose is to measure the light the modules actually receive, it is installed at the same tilt angle·azimuth as the module plane, in a position not shaded by surrounding structures. The measured data is collected into the Solarlog monitoring system and used directly for the PR calculation. - **5. If a problem arises with the data** — Only where the agreed reference data is missing or its reliability cannot be accepted, Solarlog notifies you of the reason and grounds and then corrects it with supplementary data such as ASOS·satellite data. Otherwise, only the measured values from the agreed method are used. - **Why a pyranometer is advantageous** — Satellite·observation-station data are estimates for a point away from the plant, so they cannot fully reflect local clouds·fog·microclimate. If irradiance is read higher than it actually is, PR comes out lower and a normal plant may be judged to have fallen short; if it is read lower, conversely, an actual shortfall may be missed. An on-site pyranometer measures the light that the plant's module plane actually received, so it is the fairest basis for both you and Solarlog. > You select a method after confirming that the guarantee calculation result may differ according to the difference in precision of each method. If you want a precise assessment, choose (d) pyranometer measurement; if you would rather not incur an initial cost, choose one of (a)–(c). ### — 04. Installation & Construction Site conditions such as rooftops·work at height, whether installation is possible, what to prepare, how long it takes, and liability during construction ### Q14. Is installation possible even at sites with difficult access, such as rooftop installations? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q14 Yes, it is. Sites with limited access — building rooftops, pitched roofs, mountainous terrain·water surfaces — are already ordinary construction conditions, and sites requiring ladders·work at height are also within the standard scope of work. - For work at height, safety harnesses·helmets·fall-prevention measures are applied in accordance with occupational safety and health standards, and qualified personnel carry out the work. - If the scale makes it difficult to bring materials in by ladder, or a structural risk is identified, separate equipment such as an aerial work platform·crane is brought in. In that case an equipment rental cost may arise, and we inform you in advance. - The crew·materials are organized to suit the site conditions, so installation is virtually never refused merely because access is poor. > The exact construction method and the equipment required are determined at the pre-contract site survey, and the survey itself involves no cost. ### Q15. Are there conditions where installation is difficult or impossible? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q15 Installation is possible at most sites. The representative case where installation is not possible is BIPV (building-integrated photovoltaics), and other constraints are generally as follows. All of them are identified in the advance survey, so no problem comes to light after the contract is signed. - **BIPV (building-integrated photovoltaics) : installation not possible.** — Because the modules are built integrally with the building's exterior cladding, module-level devices (MLPE) cannot be attached and the wiring cannot be accessed, so such sites are excluded from installation. - **Where the work is unsafe for structural reasons** — Where the roofing is so aged·corroded that it can hardly bear the load, for example, safety reinforcement must come first. - **Where the equipment specifications are incompatible** — Special-specification modules·inverters require a prior compatibility review. - **Environments where communication is impossible** — For remote areas that neither mobile nor wired networks reach, a separate communication method is designed. - **Where third-party approval is required** — Leased land·buildings, shared rooftops and the like require the prior consent of the owner·managing body. If we judge that installation itself is not possible, we tell you clearly at the pre-contract stage. We never inform you that installation cannot be done after a contract has been signed. ### Q16. Is there anything you need to prepare before installation? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q16 Only the provision of documents and cooperation with site access; there are no materials or works you have to prepare yourself. - **Equipment documents** — Any documents you hold, such as the single-line diagram, module·inverter specifications, and string configuration drawing. If they do not exist or differ from the actual situation, we verify them on site during the survey and compile them anew. - **Access cooperation** — Where a separate managing body exists, as with building rooftops: access approval, cooperation on the use of elevators·passageways, and completion of safety training if required. - **Cooperation of the electrical safety manager** — Work requiring a grid shutdown·disconnection needs the attendance of the appointed electrical safety manager or prior consultation. - **Communication environment** — If site communications are unstable, Solarlog supplies separate communication equipment. You do not need to arrange a line yourself. ### Q17. How long does installation take, and does generation stop during that time? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q17 It varies with the plant's size and access conditions, but a plant of ordinary size is completed within one day to a few days. - Module-level equipment (MLPE) is installed with the power to the relevant string switched off, so only the section being worked on pauses temporarily while the remaining sections keep generating. The entire plant is not shut down. - Work for which a stoppage is unavoidable is scheduled at hours of low irradiance (early morning·dusk) or on cloudy days to minimize generation loss. - The work schedule is agreed and fixed in advance, and if a grid shutdown is required we inform you of the relevant procedures and the time needed beforehand. ### Q18. What happens if an accident occurs during installation or existing equipment is damaged? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q18 Liability for personal·property accidents occurring during construction rests with Solarlog, which performed the work, and no burden is passed on to you. - Solarlog bears the liability related to industrial accidents involving the work crew and the responsibility for restoring existing equipment damaged by construction negligence. - The site conditions are recorded in photographs before and after construction, so pre-existing damage and damage during construction can be clearly distinguished. - Generation stoppages unavoidably caused by the work are managed within the scope agreed in advance, and the work is planned so that no unscheduled long-term stoppage occurs. ### — 05. Monitoring and Fault Response What runs automatically on weekends and at night, the boundary between remote and on-site response, inspection cycles and monthly reports ### Q19. Do monitoring and fault alerts also work on weekends and public holidays? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q19 Yes. Monitoring and anomaly detection run automatically 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, regardless of whether staff are on duty. They are not suspended on weekends, public holidays, or extended holidays. - On-site equipment collects and transmits panel-level generation data at roughly 30-second intervals, and the AI diagnostic engine judges deviations from normal patterns in real time. - Because the system catches anomalies first without waiting for a person to check, a situation in which an inverter that stopped on Friday evening is only discovered on Monday morning does not arise. - Anomalies that occur during a holiday are recorded automatically and managed as history together with the actions taken on the next business day. ### Q20. When an anomaly is detected, who is notified and how? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q20 It is delivered simultaneously to the Solarlog control center and to the person in charge you designate. This is not a setup where you can only find out by watching a screen yourself. - Multiple alert recipients can be designated (plant manager, building management office, asset management officer, etc.), and they can be set differently for each plant. - Alert intensity is differentiated according to the severity level of the anomaly. Critical anomalies requiring immediate action and minor deviations that only need to be watched are not notified at the same intensity, so alert fatigue is avoided. - You can check the current status and past history directly on the web and mobile dashboard at any time. ### Q21. How far can matters be handled remotely on weekends? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q21 A considerable number of items are handled without anyone going to the site. In practice, a substantial share of the anomalies that occur on holidays are closed at the remote stage. - **Remote diagnosis** — We determine remotely which section has which anomaly and whether the matter requires immediate site dispatch. - **Remote control** — We carry out the actions that are possible remotely, such as responding to internet (router) and communication failures, remote inspection and reset of inverter channels, restarting data collection equipment, and module-level (MLPE) control. This item is provided at every tier, including Standard. - **Fire-safety emergency shutdown** — With Enterprise, when a safety risk such as fire or arcing is suspected, RSD-based remote emergency shutdown can immediately lower module-level voltage to remove the hazard first (an Enterprise-only feature). - Matters not resolved by remote action move on to the site dispatch procedure (Q22). ### Q22. If a problem cannot be solved remotely and on-site work is required, what is the procedure? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q22 It splits into two tracks depending on urgency, and the scope of site dispatch differs by plan. - **① Safety risk (fire, arcing, risk of electric shock, structural damage, etc.)** — We respond immediately regardless of the time of day or the day of the week. We notify you and the managing entity immediately, file reports with relevant agencies such as the fire department and KEPCO where necessary, and handle the site dispatch as an emergency case. - **② Generation-loss faults (inverter shutdown, string dropout, etc.)** — We first attempt remote action, and if that does not resolve it, we move on to on-site response. - **On-site response by plan** — For Standard and Boost, site visits are limited to Product A/S for equipment supplied by Solarlog (MLPE and communications), and any other on-site maintenance proceeds as a paid, per-case quotation. Care and above respond up to on-site (light) maintenance, targeting site dispatch within 72 hours on a business-day basis after a fault is reported. Faults that occur on a holiday are also detected and recorded the moment they happen, so unlike cases discovered only after the holiday ends, the loss period does not drag on. That downtime period is also managed as data when the Guarantee plan's Output guarantee is assessed. ### Q23. Are there extra charges for night-time or holiday site dispatch? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q23 24-hour monitoring, anomaly detection, alerts, and remote action are included in the subscription fee regardless of the time of day, and no surcharge applies simply because it is night-time or a holiday. - Whether a site dispatch is charged or free is judged not by 'when we went' but by 'what was done' and 'which plan you are on'. In other words, the same criteria as Q26 apply. - For a night-time or holiday emergency site dispatch made at your request on a matter unrelated to Solarlog-supplied equipment or the scope of your plan, actual travel expenses may be incurred, and in that case we provide a quotation in advance before proceeding. ### Q24. How often are regular site inspections and thermographic (IR) inspections carried out? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q24 It depends on the plan. Standard and Boost are centered on remote monitoring, and quarterly site inspections are included from Care upward. - **Standard and Boost** — No regular site inspections (remote-centered). A thermographic (IR) inspection is performed once at the outset and reflected in the diagnostic report. - **Care and Guarantee** — A regular site inspection is carried out once per quarter together with a thermographic (IR) inspection, and preventive maintenance is performed at least once a year. Guarantee additionally includes cleaning, weed control, and wiring changes at Solarlog's discretion, with no limit on frequency, in order to achieve the guarantee. - **Enterprise** — The cycle and scope are agreed on a customized basis to suit the conditions of the plant. > The cycles, frequencies, and times above are targets and principles, and may be adjusted depending on weather, site accessibility, parts supply, customer cooperation, and similar factors. ### Q25. What is included in the report I receive every month? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q25 It is an AI diagnostic report that shows how much your plant generated this month and why, drilling all the way down to the panel level. It is sent automatically once a month at every tier. - It sets out monthly generation and the performance ratio (PR), the gap against expected generation given irradiance, and anomaly detections and action history by panel, string, and inverter. - For Guarantee, measured trends against the guarantee baseline are shown alongside, so you can see each month whether the guarantee is on track even before the annual settlement. - The report is sent to the email address you designate, and for Enterprise it is provided in a customized portfolio-wide report and KPI format. ### — 06. Repairs and A/S Scope What is free and what is charged, faults in equipment other than the modules and coordination with manufacturer A/S, and root-cause determination ### Q26. How much of root-cause investigation and actual repair is included in the subscription fee? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q26 There are three criteria for the judgment. ① Whose equipment is it, ② which plan is in place, and ③ what scale of maintenance is involved. - **① Solarlog-supplied equipment (rental) → free at every tier** — The MLPE (GARD, BSTR), Edge Gateway, communication equipment, cables, and accessories installed by Solarlog are rental equipment, so their upkeep and replacement are Solarlog's responsibility. If they fail, we repair or replace them free of charge regardless of your plan (Product A/S). - **② On-site (light) maintenance of existing equipment → included from Care upward** — On-site (light) maintenance such as partial replacement of string cables, connector repair and replacement, wiring changes, repair of broken conductors, combiner box inspection, and one-off panel cleaning is included in Care, Guarantee, and Enterprise. Standard and Boost provide remote diagnosis and guidance, while on-site maintenance is charged per case. - **③ Major overhaul → separate quotation at every tier** — Large-scale replacement of the plant's existing assets, such as inverter replacement or major structural overhaul, is not included in any plan. Solarlog handles quotation comparison, contractor sourcing, and construction management on your behalf, but the cost is at actual expense. In short, finding the cause is always included, and repairing Solarlog's equipment is always included. Work on the plant's existing equipment differs by plan, and buying and swapping in large new equipment is a separate cost. ### Q27. If the combiner box, inverter, or distribution panel fails rather than the solar modules, will you identify the cause as well? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q27 Yes. The entire DC-side section running from the panels to the combiner box and the inverter falls within our direct inspection and maintenance scope, and root-cause investigation is provided regardless of plan. AC-side equipment is handled in coordination with the electrical safety management domain. - **Direct inspection scope (DC side)** — PV panels → combiner box → inverter. Because panel, string, and inverter data are collected together, if only a specific string goes down the cause is automatically narrowed to the combiner box fuse, breaker, or cable system, and if an entire inverter stops, to the inverter itself or downstream of it. - **AC side (from the switchgear and distribution panel onward)** — This is the statutory domain of the electrical safety manager. With Solarlog data we catch and report symptoms of the form 'the inverter is normal but the power cannot flow out to the grid', and take action in coordination with the appointed safety manager. If you have no safety manager, you can also use our safety manager appointment agency service (a paid option). - **Outside the service scope** — Utility poles, transformers, and the grid fall under KEPCO's jurisdiction. Grid-side factors such as outages and curtailment are distinguished in the data and reported so that they are not confused with plant anomalies. > Root-cause investigation (diagnosis) is included in the subscription fee at no separate cost. The point where costs diverge is the 'repair' stage (Q26). ### Q28. What do you do when it is unclear which piece of equipment is to blame for a fault? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q28 We determine it with data and put the determination in writing. This is also the practical reason for having panel-level monitoring. - We cross-check the output curves by panel, by string, and by inverter before and after the time of failure, the performance ratio (PR) against irradiance, and the event logs to pinpoint when and in which section the anomaly occurred. - The determination is provided as a root-cause report, which you can use as objective supporting evidence when filing a defect-repair claim with the manufacturer or installer, or an insurance claim. - Whether it is 'natural degradation from age' or 'a defect in a specific component' is the key issue that decides whether compensation is paid. The purpose of the service is to let you argue this with data rather than by intuition. ### Q29. Will you also file and coordinate manufacturer A/S for equipment that Solarlog did not supply? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q29 Yes, we can. On behalf of subscription customers we file with the manufacturer's or installer's A/S desk and manage the progress until the case is closed. We do not charge a separate fee for this agency work itself. - **Filing on your behalf** — We report the details of the fault to the manufacturer or installer and have a person in charge assigned. - **Technical evidence provision** — We compile and submit the supporting materials needed for the A/S determination, such as generation data at the time of the fault, event logs, and site photos. You do not have to explain 'when it started going wrong' yourself. - **Attendance and verification** — When the manufacturer's engineer visits, Solarlog attends with them if needed to confirm what was done, and verifies with data whether normal operation was restored afterwards. > Third-party costs such as parts and travel charges billed by the manufacturer follow that company's warranty policy, and Solarlog does not pay them on your behalf or waive them. Inverter replacement and major structural overhaul are not included in any plan and proceed on a separate quotation. ### Q30. What happens if the manufacturer's warranty on existing equipment such as the inverter has already expired? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q30 Diagnosis, filing on your behalf, and construction management are provided the same way regardless of whether the warranty has expired, and any parts and labor costs incurred are charged. - We set out the options — repair of the same model, replacement with an alternative model, capacity redesign, and so on — as comparative quotations. - We also support the replacement timing decision with data. We estimate the generation revenue recovered relative to the repair cost, so you can compare 'repair it or replace it' in numbers. - If equipment aging is identified at the time of contract, we notify you in advance of the expected replacement timing and approximate cost so that you can reflect it in your funding plan. ### — 07. Contract Term and Payment What a 10-year or 20-year contract term means, service commencement and payment dates, fee changes, capacity expansion and reduction, and what you need to observe ### Q31. Why a 10-year contract term? What are the advantages from the customer's point of view? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q31 Put in one sentence, it is the period needed to create a structure in which you receive monitoring equipment and operating services together without paying a large sum up front. - **Monitoring equipment is rental** — You borrow the monitoring equipment — MLPE, gateway, communications — instead of prepaying its cost and installation. Solarlog invests up front and recovers it through the rental portion of the subscription fee, so a minimum contract term is needed as the recovery period. (For BSTR, the energy-boost device provided from Boost upward, part of the materials and installation cost is calculated separately as a contribution.) - **Long-term rate lock** — For the duration of the contract term, operations run on pre-agreed conditions instead of negotiating a rate for each individual maintenance case. - **Transfer of rental equipment at maturity** — If the contract term ends normally and all obligations are paid in full, ownership of the rental equipment transfers to you. Solarlog does not take it back (Q39). - **Aligned interests** — Because the service is sustained only when generation increases, the incentive for Solarlog to proactively find and remove causes of generation loss is built into the contract itself. ### Q32. Is a 20-year contract term also possible? How does it differ from 10 years? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q32 Yes, it is possible. The standard is 10 years (120 months), and 20 years (240 months) can be selected as a special provision. - **Settlement denominator** — On early termination, the denominator in the formula for settling the up-front equipment investment increases from 120 months to 240 months, so even if you terminate at the same point in time, the monthly settlement burden is eased. - **Monthly rate and early termination fee ratio** — The monthly rate by contract term and the early termination fee ratio are fixed in the individual contract. - **How to choose** — If you intend to hold the plant long term with stable operation as the goal, 20 years is suitable; if you want to keep open the possibility of a sale or restructuring in the medium term, 10 years is the better fit. > Individual adjustment between the two periods can be reviewed as a commercial matter, but if the period is shortened below the standard, the monthly subscription amount rises. ### Q33. When do the service start date and billing begin? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q33 Not from the day you sign the contract, but from the day Solarlog gives notice of 'service commencement' after equipment installation and commissioning are complete. - **Service start date** — It is the date Solarlog notifies after equipment installation and commissioning are complete. The start date for the Standard 3-month special provision is also this date. - **Payment method** — Payment is made monthly by Hyosung CMS automatic debit, and a tax invoice is issued together with each withdrawal. Service commences only once you have completed the automatic debit registration at the time of contract. - **Payment date** — The first withdrawal is on the 25th of the month in which service commences, and thereafter it is fixed on the 25th of every month for the contract period. - **If a withdrawal fails** — A first retry is made 3 business days later and a second retry 3 days after that, and if the third attempt fails, the amount is converted to arrears. ### Q34. Will the subscription fee be raised during the contract term? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q34 The monthly subscription fee fixed at the time of contract is maintained for the contract term under the conditions set out in the contract. Solarlog does not raise it unilaterally. - Fees change only as a result of your own choice or of changes to the plant. Upgrading to a higher plan, adding paid options such as the safety manager appointment agency service, and a change in rated capacity due to capacity expansion or reduction fall into this category. - Conversely, if you cancel a paid option, your monthly subscription fee decreases accordingly. ### Q35. If I expand or reduce the plant during operation, what happens to the contract? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q35 If you notify us in writing in advance, we recalculate the rate bracket and monthly billing amount from the following month on the basis of the revised rated capacity. No new contract is entered into. - Installed capacity is based on the rated panel DC capacity (kWp) stated in the power generation business license (or the pre-use inspection), and the same basis applies to the rate bracket, the billing amount, and the generation guarantee calculation. - If an expansion takes you past the 300 kW bracket, the rate bracket changes and the rate per 100 kW may fall. Additional installation of monitoring equipment for the expanded capacity is advised by quotation. - Any portion expanded without notice is excluded from the maintenance and guarantee scope and may be settled retroactively, so you must inform us before construction. ### Q36. What obligations does the customer have during the contract term? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q36 There are no complicated obligations. The key point is that you maintain the conditions under which Solarlog can manage the plant properly. - **Cooperation with site access** — You need to support access for regular inspections and fault response (entry procedures, keys, security approvals, and the like). - **Maintaining power and communications** — The power supply and communication line needed to run the data collection equipment must be maintained. If communications are cut off, monitoring and guarantee assessment cannot be performed at all. - **No unauthorized changes to equipment** — Please do not remove, relocate, or modify Solarlog-supplied equipment without prior consultation. This is because ownership rests with Solarlog during the contract term. - **Duty to notify** — Matters that affect the contract conditions, such as sale of the plant, a change of owner, or capacity expansion or reduction, must be notified to us in writing in advance. - **Payment of the subscription fee** — You simply pay the monthly subscription fee by CMS automatic debit (Q33). ### — 08. Termination, Sale, and Maturity How early termination is calculated, what happens when the plant is sold, and equipment and renewal after the contract term ends ### Q37. How is the early termination fee calculated? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q37 Because the subscription fee has two axes, 'rental' and 'service', the settlement is likewise split into two axes. If you terminate within the contract term for reasons attributable to you or a simple change of mind, the items below are added up, and all of them are proportional to the remaining period, so the shorter the remaining period, the smaller the burden. - **[Rental] ① Remaining rental amount (settlement of the up-front equipment investment) =** — Total initial hardware and system build cost × (remaining contract months ÷ total contract months). This is the portion of the equipment and installation cost borne by Solarlog that has not yet been recovered. For BSTR installed upon an upgrade, the residual value is calculated separately based on the months elapsed since installation (minimum recovery period of 36 months). - **[Rental] ② Equipment return** — Rental equipment must in principle be returned. If it is not returned or is damaged, compensation is payable, and where you are responsible, removal, retrieval, and restoration costs are incurred. - **[Service] ③ Service early termination fee =** — Monthly service fee × remaining contract months × the early termination fee ratio fixed in the contract. - **[Service] ④ Clawback of the contract-term discount =** — (Standard rate − monthly rate actually applied) × contract months already elapsed. This settles the difference between the rate applied at a reduced level on condition of a long-term contract term and the standard rate (the short-term contract rate). - **Deductions and cap** — Overlapping amounts for the same loss across items are deducted, and the total burden does not exceed the cap set out in the terms and conditions (Q38). - **Exceptions** — If the contract is terminated due to a material fault attributable to Solarlog, the service early termination fee, the discount clawback, and equipment compensation do not apply, and the remaining rental amount is settled by agreement. If the plant is sold and the buyer takes over the contract as it stands (full assignment (novation)), no early termination fee arises for the seller (Q38). > For Standard, if you terminate once within 3 months of service commencement, all of the above items are waived and you bear only the installation and removal labor cost and the termination removal cost (Q11). Once 3 months have passed, or after an upgrade, this formula applies as written. ### Q38. Is there any disadvantage if I sell the plant? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q38 No. The contract passes to the buyer along with the plant as it stands (full assignment (novation)), and no early termination fee arises for the seller. On the contrary, a plant whose generation has risen with Solarlog installed often achieves better sale terms. - **Contract assignment** — The buyer takes over the existing contract as it stands. The seller exits without an early termination fee, and the buyer inherits proven monitoring, maintenance, and guarantee coverage. Panel-level operating history remains on record, which serves as evidence of a 'well-managed plant' during sale due diligence. - **Why the sale terms improve** — Buying a plant with low generation, adding Solarlog to raise its output, and then selling it is a method that asset management firms actually use. If external conditions have improved as well, such as eased curtailment, the terms are even more favorable. - **If you have to sell only the site or building** — There are two routes. One is to sell the plant together and assign the contract to the buyer; the other is to sell the building but lease the roof (site) back from the acquirer and keep operating the plant. - **If the buyer does not want to take over the contract** — Conalog will broker a party interested in acquiring the plant, and for plants with good generation Conalog may also consider acquiring it directly. A route to hand the plant over to a third party without paying an early termination fee is open. - **The worst case where settlement still applies** — There is a cap on the amount payable. Under the terms and conditions it does not exceed the total subscription fees for the remaining period, and the cap also decreases as time passes. - **When the added revenue exceeds the amount payable** — If you accumulate the net gain — the increased generation revenue from Solarlog minus the subscription fee — it typically exceeds the worst-case amount payable within 2 to 3 years. In other words, if you operate for just 2 to 3 years, you are not at a loss under any assumption. Taking a 500 kW plant on the Care plan (monthly subscription fee ₩320,000, supply price) as an example, the figures are as follows. **Worst-case burden cap : no more than the total subscription fees for the remaining period (supply price, VAT excluded)** | Termination point | Year 3 | Year 5 | Year 7 | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Maximum amount payable | ₩26,880,000 or less | ₩19,200,000 or less | ₩11,520,000 or less | **When the added revenue exceeds the amount payable : increase in generation revenue − subscription fee = net gain** | Energy boost | Monthly net gain | Annual net gain | Cumulative net gain > maximum amount payable | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | At 8% boost | approx. ₩670,000 | approx. ₩8,040,000 | approx. 3 years 2 months | | At 13% boost | approx. ₩1,288,000 | approx. ₩15,460,000 | approx. 2 years 0 months | > The figures above are an example assuming 500 kW, the Care plan, a monthly subscription fee of ₩320,000, and a constant generation revenue rate. They vary with the actual plant's capacity, plan, and settlement rate, and we calculate the burden cap and payback point for your individual plant together with your quotation. ### Q39. What happens when the contract term ends? Do you take the equipment back? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q39 It does not renew automatically; we confirm whether you wish to extend before it expires. On normal expiry, Solarlog-supplied equipment is not retrieved and ownership is transferred to you. - **Expiry procedure** — Solarlog gives notice of the expiry and extension conditions at least 90 days before the contract term ends, and you reply at least 60 days before (no reply is deemed termination). You may extend by renewing the contract, and extension with replacement by newer equipment with improved performance can also be reflected by agreement. - **Ownership of rental equipment** — Upon normal expiry, full payment of all obligations, and execution of an ownership transfer confirmation, the rental ends and ownership of Solarlog-supplied equipment such as the MLPE, gateway, and communication devices transfers to you. The transfer procedure, incidental costs, and the treatment of BSTR additionally installed from Boost upward follow the provisions of the contract. Intellectual property such as software, the platform, and AI models is not subject to transfer. - **If you do not take over the equipment** — On normal expiry at maturity, the default is that you take over the equipment. If you do not wish to take it over and choose removal, you bear the removal, restoration, and transport costs. ### — 09. Technology & adoption Technology concepts such as MLPE and RSD, retrofitting existing plants, private contracts with public institutions, output gains and lower maintenance cost ### Q40. What is MLPE? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q40 MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) is a device attached to each solar panel for real-time monitoring, power optimization, and emergency shutdown (RSD). Solarlog is the solar plant O&M brand from Conalog, Korea's #1 MLPE manufacturer. ### Q41. What is RSD (Rapid Shutdown)? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q41 RSD cuts each panel's voltage to 0V within 30 seconds during emergencies. Mandatory in the US (NEC2023) and planned for Korea. The MLPE used by Solarlog includes built-in RSD, with zero fire incidents since deployment. ### Q42. How much does generation improve? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q42 Results vary by plant conditions, but on average 8%+ generation improvement after MLPE deployment. In heavy-shading environments, up to 15% improvement is achievable. AI-based repowering (cable replacement, rewiring, module repositioning) can further recover lost generation. ### Q43. Can it be installed on existing plants? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q43 Yes. MLPE can be retrofitted to existing plants without replacing inverters, adding monitoring, RSD, and generation improvement capabilities. ### Q44. How much are maintenance costs reduced? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q44 With panel-level remote diagnostics, we have detected and resolved over 500 risks per year without site visits. O&M costs are reduced by approximately 50%, and AI diagnostic costs are about 95% lower than conventional on-site inspection. ### Q45. Is it available for public institutions? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q45 Yes. The MLPE solution used by Solarlog is certified as a Government Innovation Product, enabling direct contracts with public institutions. RSD-based fire safety also strengthens EPC contractors' competitiveness in public tenders. ### Q46. What are the Solarlog service categories? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q46 Solarlog comprises a plant diagnosis and the subscription-based Solarlog O&M. Plant diagnosis is applied through Solarlog O&M Standard's diagnosis term — it pinpoints the real cause of problems at the panel level and delivers an in-depth diagnosis report. Solarlog O&M is a single plan: start with Standard and expand by freely choosing Boost (output gains), Care (light maintenance), and Guarantee (generation guarantee) options. ### Q47. What effect does a solar power optimizer have? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q47 A solar power optimizer performs panel-level maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to minimize generation losses caused by shading, contamination, and aging. Results vary by plant conditions, but on average 8%+ generation improvement has been achieved, with up to 15% in heavy-shading environments. ### Q48. How are operating rate and maintenance time improved? Permalink: https://www.solarlog.kr/en#sfaq-q48 Traditionally it is hard to even tell which component has failed, which drags operating rates down. Because Solarlog sees the plant at the module (panel) level, it pinpoints exactly where the fault is and dramatically raises the operating rate — in an overseas PoC, local staff even located and fixed issues on their own without any guidance. Maintenance time consists of three stages — detecting the event, planning the response, and carrying out the fix — and without underlying data, each stage takes considerable time. Analysis built on panel-level data shortens the whole process, and AI is applied across every step, from detection to action. ## Key Pages - **Home — https://www.solarlog.kr** Overview of Solarlog: panel-level (MLPE) diagnosis plus AI-powered subscription O&M, framed around the problem that inverter-level monitoring hides per-panel losses in the average. Introduces the two-axis model (diagnose the cause of loss, then sustain recovered output under a generation guarantee) and the global deployment footprint across multiple countries. - **Plant Diagnosis — https://www.solarlog.kr/service/diagnosis** The diagnosis service. Solarlog analyzes panel-level MLPE data to isolate the cause of generation loss — shading, soiling, degradation, faults, broken connections — down to a single panel, then delivers a diagnostic report showing exactly where and how to recover output. Diagnosis cost scales by plant capacity, and AI-based diagnosis is far cheaper than conventional on-site inspection. - **Solarlog O&M — https://www.solarlog.kr/service/om** The subscription operation-and-maintenance service. AI continuously analyzes panel-level data 24/7 to catch performance drops early, with RSD-based fire safety and a plant-specific guarantee line that guarantees generation by results. Sustains the output gained from diagnosis and reduces operations cost by roughly half versus the conventional approach. ## Languages Korean (default), English (/en), Japanese (/ja), Vietnamese (/vi), Indonesian (/id)
